# How to Set Up Recurring Cleans

Set up a client's regular clean once and Rinsebase keeps it on the schedule for you. This page is the quick how-to. For the full set of options, see [Scheduling](/scheduling.md).

## Set up a recurring clean

1. Open the form one of two ways:
   * **From a client:** go to **Clients**, open the client, and click **↻ Set recurring**. The client and their first property are filled in.
   * **From the Schedule:** click **↻ Recurring** at the top right.
2. Leave **🧽 Recurring clean** selected. The other kinds are **🧺 Recurring laundry** (Growth plan and up) and **📌 Recurring task**.
3. Use **Find property**, or pick the **Client** and **Property**.
4. Choose a **Service**. It's required, because it names and prices every clean in the series.
5. Set the **First job date**, **Start time** and **Duration**. Add an **End date** only for seasonal work.
6. Under **Repeat**, choose how often. See "Repeat options" below.
7. Pick crew under **Assign crew**. If you leave it empty, each clean gets the property's default crew when it's created.
8. Add any **Notes (applied to all jobs)**.
9. Check the **Schedule preview** on the right, including the price per clean. Then click **Create N jobs**.

If a crew member you picked has approved time off, or doesn't work one of the series' weekdays, a warning lists the conflicts. You can fix the crew, or click **Create N jobs anyway**.

### Repeat options

* **Weekly** / **Every 2 weeks**: pick one or more days under **On these days** (for example Wed + Fri). Leave the days blank to repeat on the first job's weekday.
* **Monthly**: **The same date** each month, or **A weekday of the month**, such as the first Monday or the last Friday.
* **Every 4 weeks**: keeps the same weekday. This differs from Monthly, which keeps the same date.
* **Custom**: every N days.

## What happens after you save

* **No end date:** the next 8 cleans are created right away. Once a week, Rinsebase adds 8 more cycles to any active series that's within 8 weeks of running out, so the schedule doesn't run dry.
* **With an end date:** every clean through that date is created at once, up to 120.
* Each clean is a normal job: it has crew, a checklist and photos, and is invoiced like any other clean.

## Skip, move or end

* **Skip one date:** open that clean, choose **Cancelled** under **Change status**, click **Cancel clean**, then **Only this one**. That date won't be recreated.
* **Move one clean:** drag it on the Schedule, or change it in the job's **Edit** tab. Only that clean changes. Future cleans keep the series time.
* **End the series:** open any upcoming clean in it and cancel it. When asked "Also cancel all future cleans in this series?", choose **This + all future**. Every upcoming clean is cancelled and the series stops generating new ones.

## FAQ

**What happens when the first 8 cleans are used up?** Nothing to do. The weekly extension keeps adding cleans until you end the series or reach its end date.

**Can I change the time, crew or service for the whole series?** Not in one step. There's no screen for editing a series after it's created. Change individual cleans, or end the series with **This + all future** and set up a new one with the new details.

**Can I put a different crew member on one week?** Yes. Open that clean and change the crew. The rest of the series is unaffected.

**The client is away for three weeks. What should I do?** Cancel each of those cleans with **Only this one**. The series carries on afterward and won't recreate the skipped dates.

**Should I use this for STR turnovers?** No. Recurring cleans are not turnovers, so no turnover surcharges apply. STR cleans come from calendar sync instead. See [STR & Airbnb Sync](/str-and-airbnb-sync.md).
